Sushmita Mali completed a Masters of Arts in Sociology from Nepal. She has been working as a Project Officer of the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute funded project, 'Translational Research Capacity Building Initiatives to Address Cardiovascular Diseases in Nepal' at Dhulikhel Hospital Kathmandu University Hospital, Kathmandu University School of Medical Sciences, since 2018. She leads administrative and finance issues, organizes and coordinates project training and workshops to build a national capacity to combat non- communicable diseases in Nepal. She is also involved in communication with and engagement with international partners and national key stakeholders. She has worked for more than 3 years in a Non-Government Organization. As a Program Coordinator, she has worked in different projects focused on women’s and girl’s leadership and capacity development. She was involved in research focusing on women’s and girls’ migration for work in entertainment businesses in Nepal. She has worked as a focal person for Gender-Based Violence Management System (GBVIMS) and Coalition for Safe migration and right to mobility.
