Yan Guo is a professor in Health Policy and Global Health at the School of Public Health, Peking University Health Science Center. She is deputy chair of Social Medicine Branch and Global Health Branch of Chinese Prevention Medicine Asociation. She was a Commissioner of WHO commission on social determinate of health .

Over the years, Professor Guo has been actively involved in large scale research project both national and international, including health service research, health inequity, primary health care, maternal and child health care, etc. And her work has been published in many domestic and international journals . She has also represented China to participate in global health affairs for many times and have accumulated rich and cutting-edge information and experience in global health
